Want to exercise outdoors, accompanied by a physiotherapist? This is possible! There are special exercising classes for senior citizens at the Heenvlietlaan on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting 10:30 am.

Training sessions fit all levels. We will start with a joint warming-up session during which we loosen the muscles and work on your physical condition. Next, we split the group up into three sub-(level)groups, each of which will join three different activities for 15 minutes. They are:

  1. Outdoor fitness
  2. Game-playing (hockey, handball, easy tennis or a ball game)
  3. Balance and coordination (walking exercise, exercises focusing on body stability and balancing.

We end up with a joint cooling-off session; exercises are coached and supervised by a physiotherapist and two trainees. Groups consists of up to 8 persons to allow individual attention to be given. We use appropriate sports materials (like plastic hockey sticks, soft balls and small rackets). There is the opportunity of a joint coffee break after exercising.

All persons aged 65 or over may participate in GoldenSports, even if you do not follow therapy or have not followed therapy with Physiotherapy Zwaansvliet. More information can be found here or is available from the reception desk at Physiotherapy Zwaansvliet.
